April 9th

Noor outlined the idea of “Poison the Pool” this week, emphasizing the need of examining one’s closest neighbors to see whether any of them behave violently. Nina and I worked on our Assignment, cleaning up the dataset by changing the dummy values.

I have started my Coding part for our assignment to predict the chart.

April 2, 2025 11th Week

This week me, Nina and Sumbul discussed confirmed with below topics for our  project:

What is the ratio of violent protests to peaceful protests? Geographically plot the unique values for both violent and peaceful events to visualize this.

Why did some counties have protests related to labor laws over others?
Which organizations are involved most in violent demonstrations?

Is there a year that stands out with more violent protests than others?

March 26th Week 10

Nina and I talked about our next task this week. We added a few more questions to our list after I came up with a few. We are especially interested in the following questions:

  • Why have labor law protests occurred in some nations but not in others
  • Which groups participate in violent protests the most?
  • are there any hotspots of violent activity?

And we have discussed about point patterns and point process.

18th March

In this week we talked about k, k means clustering A well-known unsupervised machine learning technique that groups related data points into clusters with the goal of reducing the distance between each cluster’s centroids.

in the data set we have some question:

  • Which demonstration took place in response to gun violence, and where did it occur?
  • How many demonstrations took place in each states?
  • why only in some state had protests related to labor rights?

25th Feb, 6th week

This class we discussed about Noor Project. And I have Completed the project to find the values for Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation and Variance by using python program.  I have started my part for the below question as well.

What is the rate of women and men killed with mental illness?

What is the average period of shooting the normal and mental illness people killed?

Feb 18th, 5th Week

This week we don’t have class, So I get started working in Python for my 2 questions,

  • How many women have been killed in gunshots involving mental illness in comparison to men?
  • What period of time does it take on average for shootings to occur

Feb-12, 4th week

This week, we explored Mathematica, I started working on our assignment, which entails utilizing Python and Excel to determine the mean, median, standard deviation, as well as the highest and minimum numbers,

Feb-4, 3rd Week

My classmate Nina and I discussed about the assignment. In addition, we talked about data analysis to identify locations with a high concentration for shooting occurrences involving individuals with mental illnesses, ranked by police station, and investigating correlations between these incidents. I am currently working on the part that involves coding in Python. Are the individuals who were shot by the police from the same nation or from separate nations? This is another topic we plan to include.

28th Jan

we discussed about some questions in today’s class, and we came up with few questions for our report.

  • Where are situations involving mentally ill people concentrated, and where are body cameras most frequently used?
  • How many women have been killed in gunshots involving mental illness in comparison to men?
  • What period of time does it take on average for shootings to occur?
  • What factors cause the deaths of children under ten in shootings?

so me and Neena will find the answer using python.

Lavanya’s 21st Jan

We have discussed about the Action Theory.

Action Theory:

Action theory is the conversion of raw data into an objective. the objective is nothing but while analyzing the data what  raising in our mind.

And how to create the word press “usernamemth522.site.umassd.edu”

we discussed about the sheet of Washington post police shooting

Objective:

which people state have more shoot? while comparing the state of IN and TA have more shoots

And how will predict the data if we do not have complete value?

how to analyze the people by age wise
